The Derbyshire Coach Core apprenticeship programme is fortunate to have a diverse variety of partners from small community organisations, football club trusts, gymnastics and basketball clubs, school sport partnerships, leisure providers, small community organisations, foster care services and local authorities.
The current programme is running with 16 apprentices who have been offered full time employment with a recognised sporting or youth based employer, and a wage whilst also working towards the Level 2 Community Activator Coach qualification – and a whole host of additional learning opportunities. In addition, whilst employed directly by one organisation, there is also access to a range of events, training opportunities and experiences through the other supportive partners.
The employers for the Derbyshire Coach Core programme are: Bolsover District Council, Parkside High, Places Leisure, North East Derbyshire District Council, Derby County Community Trust, Erewash Valley Gymnastics Club, Browxtowe Active Schools, Chesterfield FC, Nottingham Hoods Basketball Club, Baby People and Long Eaton Football Club. The programme is administered by Active Derbyshire.
