Becoming a Coach Core apprentice is a chance to simultaneously earn money from working a real job, whilst also getting education that will result in an industry-recognised qualification. It can be the start of a lifetime in coaching, or the first step to any number of different roles in the sport & physical activity sector.

To work with LS-TEN, you must be enthusiastic about wanting to work within the sport and physical activity sector and be committed to inspiring others to be more physically active. No prior coaching experience is required, but a willingness to learn, work hard and challenge yourself is essential.

White Rose Rugby is set up to provide clubs and schools with experienced, dedicated, professional coaching personnel with the skills and expertise to deliver quality rugby coaching at all levels, from Primary and Secondary School to Club rugby.

You will be on a Community Activator Coach apprenticeship, which allows you to get a qualification and get paid to do it! We Do Tennis work with tennis clubs of all sizes throughout the UK, helping to improve their tennis coaching programmes and tennis club operations.

At We Do Tennis you will:
– Get paid for getting people engaged and active through playing tennis across the Manchester region
– Familiarise yourself with LTA products such as LTA Youth and LTA Youth Schools as well as more inclusive opportunities such as Walking Tennis for those living with poor mobility and long term illness.
– Assist and coach tennis and physical activity sessions to local communities, young and old, schools and other educational settings.
– Get the chance to learn new skills, meet new people and be guided by a number of senior coaches and management, as well as the opportunity to take and achieve a Level 1 Tennis Assistant qualification as a minimum.
– Make a positive difference within your community and be a part of a growing sport within the City.

As a Walk Derbyshire Development Apprentice, you will be an integral member of the Community Development team at South Derbyshire CVS. This role will be hosted by South Derbyshire CVS and supported by the Walk Derbyshire agenda in South Derbyshire.

You will develop skills to scope, organise and coordinate the delivery of opportunities for local communities to get more people engaged in everyday walking.

You will explore skills to engage and build relationships with partners across the district and provide support to enable them to increase and strengthen walking opportunities and to successfully implement behavioural change skills within their communities.

You will be involved in practical experience of how to develop and devise appropriate walking opportunities and learn how to work with local government bodies and community organisations, the voluntary sector and sport for development agencies.

You will be delivering the vision of the Walk Derbyshire, South Derbyshire Consortium. This is to support families, particularly those with disabilities and long-term health conditions, to engage in everyday walking in the areas of Cadley Park, Church Gresley and Newhall.

All Coach Core apprentices receive:

  • An employment placement
  • A minimum salary of at least National Apprenticeship Wage
  • Nationally recognised apprenticeship qualification
  • Additional training and development opportunities
  • Mentoring and support from experienced, dedicated staff
  • Access to events and opportunities not seen on any other programme
  • A commitment to work with you to find a positive exit route at the end of the programme

What to expect

The programme will last 15-18 months. You will be employed and paid for a minimum of 30 hours per week, and that will include your ‘education day’ – a day spent with your tutor and other Coach Core apprentices working towards your qualification.

We are looking for people who are:

  • Available for full-time employment 30 hours a week for 15-18 months
  • Have enthusiasm for teaching others and growing sport in your community
