Coach Core Foundation is delighted to announce a new four-year partnership with Youth Fed, strengthening opportunities for young people across Cheshire through apprenticeships, skills development and employment pathways.

The partnership will see Youth Fed act as Workforce, Skills and Apprenticeship Lead (WSAL) for Coach Core’s work across Cheshire, helping to connect local employers, stakeholders and young people with meaningful apprenticeship opportunities and support.

Youth Fed is a well-established youth charity that works to improve the lives of young people through mentoring, training, employability programmes, volunteering opportunities and community support. Having worked with over 20,000 young people in the last year and supported hundreds of youth organisations, schools and community groups, Youth Fed shares Coach Core’s commitment to helping young people realise their potential and achieve positive futures.

"This partnership makes real sense to us. Youth Fed and Coach Core are both fundamentally about the same thing- giving young people the tools, confidence and opportunities to build a future for themselves. Youth Fed does brilliant work getting young people ready to take that next step, and we're able to provide the apprenticeship route that turns that readiness into a long-term job. By working together, we can support more young people in Cheshire into sustainable, long-term employment than either of us could achieve alone."

Paul Thompson

Director of People and Learning, Coach Core Foundation

“We’re delighted to be partnering with Coach Core over the next four years. At Youth Fed, we work with young people to build their confidence, develop their skills and help them take those important next steps towards employment. This partnership is a great opportunity to create a clear pathway from skills and development into meaningful apprenticeships and long-term careers. By bringing together our strengths, networks and relationships with young people and employers, we can create more opportunities and help more young people achieve their potential.”

Kevin Bradburne

MBE. Director of Operations Youth Fed

Over the four-year partnership, the two organisations will focus on:

Local employer and pathway development in Cheshire: Youth Fed will connect with employers, venues and partners across its Cheshire network, helping create new apprenticeship opportunities in the area.

Employability and apprenticeship readiness: Building on Youth Fed’s existing employability programmes, the partnership will help young people already engaged with Youth Fed understand and access the apprenticeship and employment routes Coach Core offers.

A long-term, embedded regional model: Unlike a short pilot, the four-year term allows both organisations to build a sustained pipeline supporting successive cohorts of young people and employers in Cheshire, rather than a one-off intervention.
