Prince Harry meets Coach Core apprentices at England Rugby team open training session

In his new role as Patron of the Rugby Football Union (RFU), Prince Harry attended an England rugby team open training session at Twickenham Stadium. The event at Twickenham Stadium saw over 12,000 supporters from clubs and schools filling the stands to watch the England senior squad in a training session. It also featured a live Q&A from coaches and England players.

A group of apprentices from Coach Core programmes in London, Essex and Nottingham were thrilled to be invited to watch the session – a unique coaching experience that they hope to learn from and apply in their communities.

Prince Harry then took a seat in the stands with young people from various RFU youth projects and met young rugby players involved in England Rugby’s Try for Change programme. While the training session took place, Prince Harry chatted to young rugby players to hear about how rugby has helped to turn their lives around.

His Royal Highness also met representatives from RFU’s National Youth Council and Young Rugby Ambassadors (YRA) programmes as well as meeting young people from Didcot RFC who were chosen from around the country to form a Guard of Honour for the England team.
