Coach Core and Boxwise announce national partnership to open new apprenticeship and employment pathways for young people
New partnership will connect Boxwise Foundation’s national network of boxing clubs, coaches and venues with Coach Core Foundation's apprenticeship and employer expertise, creating credible routes from community sport into paid apprenticeships and sustainable careers.
Coach Core Foundation and Boxwise Foundation today announced a new national partnership designed to create more apprenticeship, education and employment opportunities for young people, particularly those who face barriers, discrimination or a lack of opportunity.
Boxwise delivers non-contact boxing and personal-development programmes through accredited England Boxing coaches, venues and referral partners, helping disadvantaged and vulnerable young people build confidence, wellbeing and discipline. Coach Core is a national employment and education charity that uses sport and apprenticeships to improve young people’s life chances. Together, the two charities will combine Boxwise’s grassroots reach with Coach Core’s apprenticeship expertise and employer network to give more young people a clear path from sport into skilled work.

It is for this reason that we are delighted to announce this partnership, helping them employ their first ever apprentice and we look forward to working alongside Boxwise's coaches and venues across the UK to unlock even more pathways that lead to real, sustainable jobs.”
The partnership will focus on three areas over an initial 12-month term:
National venue and partner introductions: Boxwise will introduce Coach Core to venues, employers and delivery partners across its network where apprenticeship opportunities could be created for young people.
Boxwise as an apprenticeship employer: Boxwise will explore recruiting its own first apprentice, supported by Coach Core’s guidance on the recruitment, training and support process, with a view to a rolling apprenticeship programme in future.
Regional pathways for coaches, venues and young people: The two charities will run joint information sessions and pathway conversations in priority regions, helping young people connected to Boxwise programmes understand the education, apprenticeship and employment routes available through Coach Core.

The shared ambition of both organisations is to create more credible, supported routes from community sport into paid apprenticeships, skills development and sustainable employment for young people across the UK.
