Coach Core teams up with Snow Camp
Coach Core and Snow Camp have rekindled our partnership to transform young lives through the power of sport
Snow Camp have been harnessing the power of skiing & snowboarding to break down barriers, broaden horizons and address the biggest social issues facing underserved young people today since 2003
At Coach Core, we’ve long admired Snow Camp’s innovative approach to supporting young people. With our missions so closely aligned, a partnership between our two organisations makes perfect sense. Our relationship first began in 2017, when we placed four apprentices with Snow Camp through our London programme.
Since then, Coach Core has grown from 8 locations to 21, whilst also developing our capacity to deliver bespoke national apprenticeship programmes for employers. Alongside our place-based delivery, this means we can now tailor our approach to meet the specific needs of partners like Snow Camp across multiple locations. We’re excited to be working together again—this time on a tailored national programme that will see apprentices embedded in Snow Camp teams across the country, creating opportunities for young people to thrive through sport and youth work.
Together, we’ll open up even more pathways for young people to gain skills, qualifications, and work experience – with many apprentices coming through Snow Camp’s own progression pathway. These individuals will now step into roles as relatable mentors and role models, using their lived experience to inspire and support others.
We’re excited to partner with Coach Core - together, we’re committed to creating opportunities for young people who have historically faced barriers and discrimination, helping them unlock their potential and build meaningful careers in the snowsports industry and beyond.
Every apprentice will benefit from Coach Core’s award-winning support model – built specifically for young people who’ve faced barriers, discrimination, or a lack of opportunity. This includes 1-to-1 mentoring, tailored learning support, industry masterclasses, additional coaching qualifications, and access to a national peer network. Together with Snow Camp, we’ll be preparing apprentices not just for jobs but for sustainable careers in sports and physical activity or beyond.
We couldn’t be more aligned in our values, mission and purpose. Snow Camp and Coach Core both exist to support young people who might otherwise be overlooked – helping them build confidence, gain new skills and find real opportunities for their future.
What makes this partnership so special is that the young people stepping into these roles have grown through every stage of Snow Camp’s journey – from First Tracks, to Graduate, to Excel. They’ve experienced the power of snowsports to overcome challenges and build a sense of direction.
Now, through the Coach Core Apprenticeship, they’re taking the next step – becoming relatable role models who are helping to deliver the very same programmes that shaped them. Whether it’s mentoring others, leading life skills sessions or supporting new participants on the slopes, these apprentices bring authenticity, empathy and lived experience to everything they do. This isn’t just about gaining qualifications – it’s about giving back and helping the next group of young people find their path too.
We’re proud to be working alongside Snow Camp to create a new generation of coaches who lead with empathy, purpose and experience – and to ensure that no young person is left behind when it comes to accessing life-changing opportunities through sport.
