Coach Core graduation presentation

By James Burbidge · 3rd December 2018

Prince Harry, Patron of The Royal Foundation, and New York Knicks NBA player Carmelo Anthony will present the first graduates from The Royal Foundation’s Coach Core programme with their certificates at a ceremony at St James’s Palace, on Wednesday 14th January.

The 33 graduating apprentices have successfully completed the Coach Core programme, an apprenticeship which trains young people who are struggling to find positive prospects to become professional sports coaches and mentors. The programme has been run in partnership with Glasgow Life in Scotland and with Greenhouse Charity in London.

The graduation ceremony further celebrates the partnership between The Royal Foundation and the NBA which was announced during The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s trip to the US in December 2014.

In addition to the partnership with the Foundation’s United for Wildlife campaign, the NBA also supports Coach Core in developing young, motivated and talented new basketball coaches through coaching experience and logistical support.
