Coach Core a System Partner with Sport England

We are delighted to announce we are one of Sport England’s System Partners, working together to tackle to tackle inequalities in sport and physical activity through their Uniting the Movement Strategy.

Coach Core is amongst a group of over 120 organisations working in partnership with Sport England to level up access to sport and physical activity across the country.

As part of Sport England’s new funding model providing longer-term financial support, System Partners like Coach Core will have the security and stability to effect the changes necessary for Sport England’s Uniting the Movement strategy.

Working in collaboration with Sport England, we will be able to increase both the breadth and depth of our programmes, getting more young people onto apprenticeships and increasing the level of support we can provide them and their employers to ensure their impact on the local communities is deep and lasting.

Sport England research shows that some groups are typically less active – like women, people with long-term health conditions, disabled people, people from ethnically diverse communities and lower socio-economic groups. Right now, the opportunities to get involved in sport and activity – and reap the rewards of being active – depend too much on your background, your gender, your bank balance and your postcode.

Coach Core is specifically working to tackle many of these inequalities – our 3 year strategy is determined to offer more Apprenticeships and life changing opportunities than ever before to the young people that need this most. Furthermore, our apprentices are on track to deliver 2.5 million coaching interactions in their local communities, helping those around them get active and becoming role models for the next generation.

“We are delighted to continue our partnership with Sport England. With their support, we have been able to not only grow Coach Core but also strengthen our charity in a number of different ways. To join other esteemed Systemic Partners gives us all incredible pride. However, it also motivates us further to attract and develop even greater numbers of young, diverse talent into our sector that can play a long term role in improving the health of the nation.”
