Azeem Amir, England Blind Footballer, becomes Coach Core ambassador
The England Blind Footballer and entrepreneur has partnered with Coach Core to help inspire and educate everyone across our network.
Coach Core is thrilled to announce the appointment of Azeem Amir, the distinguished England Blind Footballer and entrepreneur, as its newest ambassador. Azeem brings with him a wealth of experience and a passion for empowering youth through sports, aligning perfectly with Coach Core’s mission to support young people facing barriers and bias.
Azeem Amir is 23 and has been visually impaired since birth. However, he has never let it be a barrier to success. Azeem plays Blind Football professionally for the England and Great Britain blind football team and is working towards achieving international success. Playing across the globe he and the team are aiming to qualify for the next Paralympics.
Alongside his football, Azeem has also just completed a Master’s Degree from the University of Salford and has recently started his company Learn With ESS that uses workshops, paralympic sports and motivational speaking to help people’s understanding of disability in a team cohesive way.
I’ve been lucky enough to be around Coach Core for a few years now and I’ve seen the impact and growth that apprenticeships within sport have had on people. As I’ve met and coached alongside these individuals I’ve seen how apprenticeships are a different way of learning that can help people still get to their end goal. You can be as book-smart as you want but learning on the job - there’s nothing like it. I want to be part of that journey, to change the way people across the country interact with sport, and I’m very passionate about our values aligning.
As an ambassador, Azeem will play a pivotal role in inspiring and educating everyone across the Coach Core network to be fearless in tackling the barriers they face if they want to pursue their dreams. His remarkable journey, marked by resilience and determination, serves as a beacon of hope for individuals facing similar challenges.
